The Whippets held position to take the sugar beet factory under fire. Elements of “A” Brigade focused on clearing the last surviving German company in Colincamps. The left flank of “B” Brigade set up on the ridge, overlooking IR 14. The German commander attempted to outflank the New Zealand left with IR 14 but, as expected, the defensive fire was terrible.
The right flank of “B” Brigade moved forward under cover of the Whippets.
Not shown in this photo, the German company in Colincamps came under heavy fire. Once suppressed, a New Zealand infantry company assaulted. The German company was destroyed. Colincamps was cleared.
