This scenario is dedicated to the memory of my maternal grandfather, John Hosken, affectionately known as ‘Pa’. He fought in this battle in March, 1918, as an NCO in the New Zealand Machine Gun Corps. Many years later, he recounted his experience of this battle to me. It was part of a series of conversations we had. I remember sitting on the floor of the lounge while he showed me momentos and talked about what happened some 50 years after the events. He was a wonderful man, who died at the age of 99 - RIP.
