The Ottomans have regained Chunk Bair. The one benefit to the Allied forces is that the Ottoman artillery fire now has to pause.

With night coming on, the Ottomans have time to strengthen their positions again. More reinforcements are on their way. The Allies, on the other hand, have exhausted their reserves. The Australians did not reach Abdul Rahman spur in reality. The Allied gains on the edge of Sari Bair ridge were consolidated overnight. Fighting continued throughout the next day, with the Ottomans trying todislodge the New Zealanders. All the while, Ottoman reserves were building up. The stage was being set for the 10 August, when Mustafa Kemal launched his major counter-attack.
